The topic on everybody's lips at the moment is the book "Fifty Shades of Grey". What is it about this book which is making it so popular among women? Is it the forbidden ? Maybe the fact it is giving them permission to legitimately read porn without feeling like they are doing something wrong. Men have always been able to read porn without judgement, if fact men who didn't read porn were considered strange. Women had to hide their porn between the pages of 'Womans Day'.
The book is graphic, titillating and has an almost addictive quality to it. Maybe we all have an edge of kinkiness within us, but because of societies expectations we withhold these urges.What woman wouldn't want Christian Grey to weave his sexual magic around her? Feminists say that this book has put the womens movement back fifty years, when in my opinion it has liberated women. Removing the taboo of porn for women.
Fifty Shades of Grey is essentially a fairy tale. Young college girl desired by rich, handsome entrepreneur who buys her beautiful gifts and bestows upon her sexual favours she has never in her wildest dreams conjured up in her academic college girl mind. Sounds like a best seller to me.....
