Unanderra railway station

Unanderra Railway Station, for those that don't know it, is only available for use by able bodied young people without small children. The many stairs to get to the platforms make it impossible for a lot of people to be able to conveniently catch a train from this station. Upgrades on this station began last year when $11.4 million was allocated to Unanderra Station, and lifts were to be installed., After the waiting area of the station was upgraded then came the big turnaround. The lifts were not to be installed and the remaining funding was to be  re- allocated to another station in the Wollongong area. This is a disgusting turnaround on the State Governments part as the demographic for Unanderra is either older people who rely on trains for transport or parents with young children. The Station that they are giving the funds to does not need lifts.
Petitions are filed and people complain but it is surprising how little this really does to help the cause. Once Governments have made the decision that is it, do not pass go, do not collect $200. I get really angry at this lack of empathy. They do not care about the people affected, only about the areas where they will get the most votes. The politicians wonder why we don't trust them, here is a prime example.
